Greetings: Steps for Success
Are you doing everything you can in order to be the best that you can be? Here is what you should be doing on a daily basis....
In math class:
· When going over work, If you do not understand your mistakes, talk to your partner/group. If partner/group does not understand, ask teacher.
· Take notes. Copy down examples
· Pay attention to my suggestions/advice.
· Try to participate as much as often: ask questions if there is a problem AND answer questions posed by the teacher
· Make corrections on all classwork and homework in pen so that you can review on your own time
At home:
· BEFORE starting homework, review notes from class
· BEFORE starting homework, review lesson in text book (online access)
· BEFORE starting homework, try to redo a problem or two from class to see if you can do it on your own
· DURING homework, notes and book should be out as a reference since problems will be similar to what was taught in class
· AFTER finishing homework, submit answers online or check answer guide. If you get something wrong, mark it and look at your notes and book as a guide and try to re-do. IF those don’t help (though, they should), send me an email letting me know what gave you trouble or have them ready for class.
· Make corrections on all classwork and homework in pen so that you can review on your own time
· Look at video tutorials for each lesson (in the online book)
· Look at my website for notes or answer keys. (I will usually tell you ahead of time when I post answer keys.)
For maintenance/before a quiz or test:
· When time allows, review problems/notes/vocabulary words from other lessons
· Re-do any problem exercises from previous lessons to practice.
· Form a study group
